姜还是老的辣!

With each passing year,
we grow older.
We can't help the aging,
But the least we can do,
is stay young at heart.

Which is why, I am so proud of my grandparents!! Aft toiling hard their whole life, bringing up my mother and her brother, it is time for them to just lay back and enjoy life. Play majong, shop and eat just like the old ppl in the movies. :P

But noooo! My grandma on her own, signed up for acting classes at the local community centre. Dutifully she travels down to Marine Parade once or twice a week to learn her lines. In the process making alot of friends, some of which she goes on holidays with. :)

This grp of old folks hv gotten alot of media coverage, ranging frm the front pg of Straits Times a couple of mths back and even through online avenues...

Aft a yr of hard work, family and friends were invited for an evening of performance!

Presenting, ENCORE: An Evening of Ageless Theatre!

My grandmother acted out a whole scene of how fearful she was of her mother-in-law (v traditional households) tt she didn't dare to run away frm her steaming nian gaos even when there was a fire.

I sacrificed a Saturday evening of IT fair sales and splurged $$ on a cab just to show my support. And I really wasn't disappointed!

While his wife to some degree fulfils her girly dream of stardom, my grandfather still goes to wrk every day, rain or shine. To the same workshop he has been working in since his youth. No one really questioned what he was doing until for a project, Trixie needed his metal welding expertise......

He produced her "idea" frm a piece of paper with random drawings to an actual usable product. It greatly impressed her teacher.

When was the last time you looked at your grandparents? When was the last time you felt their importance? When was the last time you looked upon them with awe?

My grandparents survived a World War. They lived to see the progression of old Nanyang to Singapore of today. They played a part in this development frm third world to first world. They are still living to tell the tale. Likewise your grandparents...

Only if you can spare some time, to listen.
